5 out of 5 stars Outdoor Adventure   January 6, 2009
Mrs. Andrea C. Karmilovich
My kids have played this game more than their Nintendo DS's they just got. They really are enjoying it and it's GREAT exercise. I've enjoyed it too. It really gets your heart rate up. There's more to it than you think. We keep discovering new things to try. You can compete against yourself or against another person at the same time or separately. They've had the wii for over a year and this seems to be their favorite game. We don't have wii fit because it's been hard to find. This game is a great alternative in the meantime because it's such good exercise. My 9 and 11 yr. old girls are the ones enjoying it but my 4 yr. old boy is also able to do quite a bit of it and asking to play it too.

5 out of 5 stars Fun way to really get your heart pumping   January 5, 2009

Outdoor Challenge is a fun way to get short bursts of aerobic exercise, like running and jumping. You use both the included mat and the Wii remote, so you exercise your arms as well as your legs. The mat has room for two players, which means you can compete side-by-side with a friend.

Great for adults as well as children, Outdoor Challenge is one of my favorite Wii games, along side Wii Fit. The difference? Outdoor Challenge is more about having fun. The mining cart game in it, for example, is a hoot. Wii Fit, though, is more about fitness. It tracks your weight, reminds you to exercise regularly, and includes many boring yoga and strength training exercises. Wii Fit has some fun parts too, like the penguin slide balance game and the hula hoop exercise, but the primary focus there is on fitness, not fun.

I use my Wii Fit more than Outdoor Challenge, but sometimes I just get a bit bored of Wii Fit, and I want something different. Outdoor Challenge does the job. It's serious exercise and seriously fun.

5 out of 5 stars Great FUN workout for all: 5-yr-old to 40-yr-old   January 5, 2009

My whole family has enjoyed playing the games on this. It comes with a HUGE mat (not the teeny wii-Fit 'box') that is READY to use as-is for one or two players (again, unlike wii-Fit that 'requires' about $100 more worth of extras to make it 'just right'). It's a great workout for hubby and me that we can do together or alone. An added benefit is the 'Teamwork' mode that has made my two kids work and play cooperatively to win together and encourage each other during those games. I Strongly recommend this as a fun way to get the kids (and adults) off the couch (especially during the winter when 'real' outdoor activities are limited).

5 out of 5 stars Great Get Up off the Couch Game!   January 4, 2009

My kids are 11 and 12. This Christmas we bought our first video game ever (the Wii). This Outdoor Challenge was the "key" game we purchased to go with the Wii. This game and the future wii fit were what convinced us (the parents) to purchase the Wii.

Both my husband and I, as well as our kids, love this game. Although most kids like the Mario games, this is a great stand up and get off the couch game that appeals more to our kids. The combination of challenges, combined with fun, are spectacular. The games are unique and can be played both individually, against each other, and as teammates (good for siblings). Essentially you get exercise, while simply having fun! Five stars for this one!

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful game in all areas   January 4, 2009

There is only one con to this game. You have to go back/back/back to change players. When you have a family of 4 or 5 and take turns, it means you'll spend alot of time changing the Mii's. But other than that this game is absolutely FUN, FUN, FUN !!! It's not only fun, It is a great fitness work out. It gets the family together and either working together or enjoying challenging each other in head to head matches. Since I only bought this game tonight, I am not sure how long it will last due to all the jumping running etc. on the mat. I have read several "warnings" No shoes, no hitting fists on mat that you may hurt the sensors in the mat. Well, how about a 200 pound woman jumping or running on mat. So I am a little worried it won't last long. But time will tell..... But all in all I do highly recommend this game to anyone who wants to get a fitness work out and a fun challenge at the same time with the WHOLE family.
