Kids are able to create a multitude of different drawings. | An Electronic Easel The Crayola Color Explosion Glow Board offers a unique way for kids to display their art, as it lights up drawings much like a neon sign. It incorporates several violet lights under the drawing surface. When lit, these lights cause the ink to take on a vivid, striking glow. The board's surface is reusable -- ink erases in an instant -- making it good for hours of fun at a time. Children can easily display their artwork by using the easel back to prop the board in place. And the board's two separate drawing layers give kids even more room to doodle. Using the glow board's controls, kids can choose to display one layer, or flash between both for an exciting billboard-like effect. Drawing with the Glow Board The glow board's markers come in six dazzling neon colors -- red, blue, yellow, green, orange, and pink. With these colors at their command, kids will be able to create a multitude of different drawings. Perhaps they will envision a galaxy with stars and planets, or render an undersea adventure. The markers have medium tips, which can draw thickly but also offer the ability to draw finer images. A tracing sheet comes with the board to help kids get ideas for their artwork. This toy is recommended for children ages six and up, and requires three AAA batteries (not included.) About Crayola Crayola first began developing its world-famous crayons in 1903, with eight original colors. The company is now the world's most popular manufacturer of children's art supplies and it produces more than 120 different crayon colors. Crayola recently celebrated its 100th anniversary and continues to innovate in the field of children's art. What's in the Box Crayola Color Explosion Glow Board with two coloring surfaces, 6 glow board markers, and tracing sheet.

Very clumsy and hard to clean! January 4, 2009 Lisa M. Walls (WI) I bought this for my six year old son for Xmas. I was sure he would love it, I loved it just from looking at the box, but after opening it, I would call it a major let down. It is a very clumsy toy, when you have to remove the inside screen, it scratches VERY easily and is a pain to remove and put back in. Cleaning this thing is the WORST part about it.....my son has to rub so hard and it still doesn't look clean (it looks smeary). I must say, this was the biggest letdown this Xmas (for me), my son has hardly played with it, so what does that tell you? Spend your money on something else.
Wish I could find the markers! January 4, 2009 Melissa J. Spencer (Greencastle, IN) We bought the Crayola Explosion Glow Board this past weekend. My daughter used her Christmas money to purchase this from Walmart for 20 bucks. After we figured out how to play with it, it was much fun! I had just as much fun as my 6 year old! I would leave her a message and color over it with a heart on the top board. The caps are hard to put on straight and the markers aren't very durable. My biggest complaint now is the markers and not being able to find the refill packs. They are sold out in the stores, online stores, and crayola.com. I can't even find them on ebay. By the time they come out again, we may lose interest in the product. I hope this product isn't being discontinued. I am glad I didn't spend the full price I have seen quoted, however, 20 bucks isn't chump change!
Short term fun December 30, 2008 Katrina Foard (Virginia, USA) This is a fun idea but poorly executed. The board scratches easily but requires a firm scrub to clean. The markers have dried out already and we've had it 4 days. They do make special cleaning rags for it. My kids 6, 4 and 2 enjoyed it but were irritated at the cleaning process so they would only play with it shortly. Not something i would pay over twenty dollars for. We bought it on clearance at fourteen ninty five.
Needs a bit of work, but is neat December 30, 2008 M. McAvoy I just want to agree with a few others regarding this toy. First it is a pain to clean over and over withouth causing damage. The markers dry out faster than you can get the cap back on. The back plastic screen took so much wrangling to even get it to work was a nightmare. It did not line up correctly. I had an easier time putting together A thomas the train canyon railroad with bridges and waterfalls. lol.. had to really jam it in the slot. forget about really leaving it on for display as it doesn't glow much anywhere except for in the dark. So leave it on at night? Well then the batteries run down too quickly. A horse a piece I guess The good, my mother got each of my children one as they both wanted it. My son is 3 and daughter is 6. They both really do like the color effect in the dark. As of right now they are both ill and it has really held their attention and kept them settled down. (printed new designs at webiste) My daughter wants to keep it turned on outside her room at night so i have to sneak and turn it off. Very good concept, a few improvements could be made to the durability, structure, and life of the markers.
A big disappointment December 24, 2008 Calliope Press (Westerville, Ohio USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Crayola color explosion glowboard seemed to have potential and for 15 minutes, my granddaughter enjoyed playing it with her mother's direction and supervision. We were surprised when it quit working the very evening she opened it and decided the batteries were old. Upon replacing the batteries with new ones, it was still non-functional. I'm really sorry I ordered this for our granddaughter's Christmas.
